Gonzalo Reyes Wallops 3 Homers for Lone Stars Sunday, July 3rd , 2016 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the POR-R Beavers. HOU-R first baseman Gonzalo Reyes tripled up on the home runs to propel the Lone Stars to a win, 9-7, at Big Stick Park. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," POR-R manager said. "Reyes hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Reyes collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Gonzalo Reyes hit a solo-shot off Rubén Puente in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Rubén Puente in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. So far this season, Reyes has gotten 57 hits in 194 at-bats for a .294 batting average with 16 home runs. His stats include 47 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has played in 55 games. |
