PAA's Best Player, Ventura of Odessa Monday, July 4th , 2016 Jesús Ventura must have thought he was dreaming. First he went on an exceptional week-long batting spree, bashing the ball at a .647 clip, then the Odessa third baseman finds out he has been chosen the league's best performer and gets the PAA Player of the Week Award. He told BNN reporters in the postgame, "It was a great week for me. I could see the ball so well. Plus some of the balls seemed to have good eyes, too." For the week Ventura batted .647 (11-for-17) with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs. On the year, Ventura has hit .245 with 14 home runs, 35 RBIs and scored 35 runs. |
