Velásquez Twirls 7-0 Shutout Friday, July 1st , 2016 It wasn't easy but Luis Velásquez made it look that way. Velásquez silenced the Helena Handbaskets, 7-0, in a El Paso Diablos triumph at Ballpark of Helena. Despite the appearance of dominance, Velásquez said that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 2 walks and 3 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." This year, Velásquez has worked 121.2 innings with 126 strikeouts en route to a 10-4 record and a 2.52 ERA.
